Winter 2024 is an expedition on the San and the Wisłok. Due to military exercises, instead of on the Vistula in Sandomierz, we launched directly on the San near Sarzyna. The assumed maximum plan is to reach Przemyśl on the San and Rzeszów on the Wisłok. Both rivers are difficult. The San is only partially navigable, and the Wisłok is a small river, actually for kayaks. Interesting obstacles along the way - a dam at the power plant in Stalowa Wola, numerous millstones, stones and many fallen trees.
To sum up, despite many obstacles and navigational difficulties, we managed to cruise on the San to the center of Przemyśl and on the Wisłok to the vicinity of Łańcut. There, about 25 km before the planned destination, i.e. Rzeszów, we were stopped by underwater stones and a gusty current. We had to give up. As everyone emphasized, we were the first such a large vessel in almost a hundred years to reach this far up the Wisłok and San to the center of Przemyśl. That is why we consider the expeditions of the Vistula Navigation to be successful. All the more so because we also managed to enter small, narrow rivers - Trzebośnica, Wiar, Rudna and Tanew.
