Hamburka and "Moja prywatna Vistuliada" by Wojciech Giełżyński, accompanied by Żegluga Wiślana, returned to the Vistula route after 28 years.
As part of our own sailing project, we carried out a joint venture with Wojciech Giełżyński. Taking advantage of the presence of yachts sailing alongside, we sailed down the Vistula to Gdańsk. Our route was a bit longer, however, because it did not start in Kraków (where Żegluga Wiślana starts the first stage), but, similarly to the 1980 sailing trip, from the vicinity of Oświęcim.
Fortunately, not all the Hamburgers have been forgotten along with the previous era and we managed to find a technically quite efficient example at the WTW marina in Warsaw. The unit required some corrections and repairs, which were carried out by local shipbuilders. At this point, it is impossible to forget the people who helped us - the Board and activists of WTW, and above all Mr. Jarek Wolski - MANY THANKS! By the way, our cruise honored the 130th anniversary of the club.
The result of the Hamburger cruise, made together with Wojtek Giełżyński, is a book - a continuation of "My private Vistuliada", a kind of Vistula bible, quoted by most reporters, continuously to this day. I also like to use this book, which you can see for yourself by reading the website of Żegluga Wiślanej. I will say more, "Vistuliada" even became an inspiration for me to act and start this extraordinary shipping project.
"My Second Vistuliada", as this is the title of the new book by Wojciech Giełżyński, has been available on the market since the turn of autumn and winter
