2012 Mid-Europe Expedition

2012 Mid-Europe Expedition: Gdańsk –  Bydgoszcz – Kostrzyn - Jez. Müritz – Berlin – Magdeburg - Praga – Kolin (ca. 2000 km) – hausbot Vistula Cruiser 30 – NOWA VISTULA

This year we are traveling inland waterways of Central Europe. Start in Gdansk, then up the Vistula River to Bydgoszcz. Transitioning to the Bydgoszcz Canal, we include another lock on Notec, to reach the Warta and the Polish-German border on the Oder River. A few dozen kilometers away from the Odra border and already affecting the territory of Germany. Very busy Odra-Havel Canal (a lot of barges, mostly under the Polish flag), after passing through a very interesting hydrotechnical building - lifts for ships in Niederfinow. Through beautiful towns and villages leads to Lake Muritz. Then Muritz-Elbe Wasserstrasse and enter the Elbe in Domitz. After a dozen or so miles we go to Lower Havela and we reach Berlin. In the capital of Germany, our Vistula Cruiser 30 will be presented at Boot und Fun on 23-28 November. We invite you to visit our stand! Right after the fair we return to the water and again down the Havela and then to the channel to Magdeburg. There we enter the Elbe and flowing under the strong current we laboriously earn another kilometer. Let's hope the river in December is not frozen yet! We pass Dresden and affect the territory of the Czech Republic, where our excellent friend - juggler Josef Blech joins us. On the way a short trip to the Vltava river to Prague. We return to the Elbe and head towards Kolin, which is the final of our expedition. We plan to be there around December 15th. Let's hope we can make it before Christmas. From there, our Vistula will ride on the trailer straight to the factory, where we prepare it for the next season ....
